I know it’s just T&A but apparently on the new Maxim magazine, Both Grace Park and Tricia Helfer are seducing my eyeballs in ways only killer machines can.  Also apparently, there is a new Battlestar Galactica movie(?) called “The Plan”.  It’s about the Cylons preparing for the big takeover killings right before the series happens.

Now I love Battlestar Galactica, but I having a harder time being interested in all these spinoffs/franchise extensions.  The series has ended.  That’s that.  I really wanted the series to continue but the creators did me right and purposefully wrote a proper end.  Unlike other shows that seem to go on forever no longer having a point (SMALLVILLE!!!).  But hey, those two are awesome.  Both physically and in their acting.  IMO, the entire cast did well and I would give a standing ovation to any one of them if I ever met them.  They made me invest time and feeling into these characters when shows/actors usually don’t care.

In Motion

So hey!  I did what I thought was right.  I bought my legal name’s domain name.  Just felt right.  I went with GoDaddy.  It was ok. They had a 30% off sale.  I got my domain for 2 years for about $13.  I got it “Certified” for 2 years for about $6.  I had to snatch it up because that domain name was actually taken for a few years… I guess one of the other Aaron Chuns got lazy and forgot to renew.  Oh well.  Lucky for me.

I want to make my “website” be a reflection of my life.  A weblog, journal, business card, resume, photo album, and idea bank.  A place where I can hopefully organize my feelings and thoughts and actions.  I’d like to look back on my website when I’m older with my children and see how far I went.  I guess I just set a goal.

As you can see, this blog, which is aaronttf.wordpress.com, is NOW ALSO www.aaronchun.com.  I bought an “Upgrade” from wordpress for $10/year to use domain mapping.  Pretty good huh?  I will start off just doing the usual blogs for now.  I’m planning on getting my learn on and making changes via CSS to make this a fully unique experience with different layouts and pages and such.  But I did choose to do things this way through WordPress because I feel that the people behind wordpress have the same ideas and goals as I do:  To make a person’s online experience unique and with ease and organization.   Man, I have been rolling with that word/idea “Organization” for a long time.  It is very much apart of who I am.

Next thing I should get in motion is talking about who I am.  This is my website.  And this is who I am.

Purchases and Trips

So a couple of weeks ago I got a new Macbook to replace my old Dell laptop.  I was ultra anti-Mac.  I dunno what happend…. It just did.  and here i am with a new macbook and lovin it.  So if you wanna talk about macbooks and what they can do, Im down.  I know a bunch from Charlie Brown.  Hes my personal Mac specialist.  Everything I know is from him.  but Im still learning too.  Let us all learn together.

A couple of weeks after that, I went to DC for the first time with Sara.  With a quick stopoff in Disneyland first.  I guess I could show you what i mean….

One of the good things about working at a news station is that you get comp tickets to stuff.  Im so happy for that.  my camera worked out pretty good and i got some vids from it too.  but wordpress doesnt like avis so no soup for you.  It was hard but we tried to squeeze everything into the one day we were there.  Man it was tiring.

back from the past

wow. check out that last thing i wrote about. so much for hd dvd huh? if you arent caught up on all of the ruckus, ign.com has a good article on the rise and fall of hd dvd. le sigh. i wrote down a list of all the current hd dvds i want and will get them when they get on mega clearance going out of style sale.
anyways, i write to you know from work on my new kickass at&t tilt 3g phone. ill talk about/review it in a separate post. thats all for now. ill jump on a comp later and give some pics and links and such.

The “HD Format War” Thoughts

i couldnt resist.  when microsoft had their price drop of the HD DVD drive for the 360 i had to get it.  why not?  $180 and you get King Kong and 5 other HD DVDs for free.  not a bad deal.

and yes i was really thinking about getting a PS3.  After all, Sony did a price drop too with the 40GB PS3 for $500 plus 5 free blu rays.  and i have to admit, right now, blu rays have a little more selection.  but alas,  IT IS $500 big ones and the PS3 has shit for games right now.  Another “big” factor in me not getting it is the fact that it is a monstrosity.  have you seen the demos at the store.  its like the obelisk in 2001.  jeez.  dont get me wrong im still getting it later, but the only reason is because i wanna play older PS2 and PSONE games.  plus the fact that the only game i HAVE to play on PS3 is METAL GEAR SOLID 4.  but i guess thats a con too…

back to my HD drive.  its funny because just before the price drop happend, i got the infamous “red ring of death” and had to have my 360 sent in to be repaired.  so as i am writing this, i STILL have not tried out the HD movies as i am waiting for my 360 to rerturn.  i will say that microsoft emailed me and said that my 360 is already repaired and being shipped back as of now, which amazes me because it only took about a week when outlooks said around 1-2 months of waiting time.

anyways, if you have a 360, i suggest you buy the HD drive THIS WEEK (8-19) from BEST BUY because you get the hottest DVD of the year 300 for FREE!!!! yea free.  WHAT A FUCKING STEAL OF A DEAL!   son of a bitch for me who bought it a couple of weeks ago.  oh well.

but im looking on the bright side.  it was more of a “eh” decision for me to CHOOSE HD DVD in this format war.  i already had a 360 and am very much satisfied with it.  it was only $180 and i DO have the right TV for it already.  looks like im all set for the next couple of years.  And im not worried about choosing the wrong side as i must say again that i will most likely get a PS3 later so ill have both formats.  also, im betting in a few years that we will all have universal players that can use both formats anyways.  im so sick and tired of reading these bulletin posts like on IGN where so deuche bag is saying that bluray has already won and then some other HD DVD fanboy comes back and tries to retaliate.  shut up already.  there isnt a right or wrong.  you just have to choose for now.  itll all be g later.  save that drama for my momma who likes korean dramas.

oh but imo, HD DVD will win!  2 reasons:  (1)its cheaper to manufacture and (2) the porn industry is backing it more.  tee hee!

Flossie, New Way of Driving, and more.

yesterday, was a long day to working the news.  the potentially “dangerous” hurricane Flossie came knockin but lost strength.  i had to come in at 12:30 and got done at about 11.  yay for overtime.  during the hourly updates and each newscast, sharie shima talked about the same old same old while trying to pack in as much “live, local, and late-breaking” info.  i was working the audio board and it was a bit tough to maintain 4 live shots and 3 phoners at the same time.  but eh, its all good.  was much better than the usual humdrum.  after all that, Flossie just broke down and all we got was some rain.  thats fine with me.

on the way home in the prius, i stretched out my legs and drove home a little different.  i did this thing where i crossed my legs at my ankles and used my left foot for gas and right foot for breaking.  it took a little while to get used to it but i drove all the way home like that.  it’s pretty fun.  you should try it if you are ever bored. 

i am still 360-less but the wii is keeping me occupido.  wii sports is definitely THE game.  but im still out to get madden 08 and high school musical for sara.  ill pick it up before work today.
